Outfit Of The Yesterday: Taupe + Coral + Wine

♫: 1991 – Azealia Banks

A rainy, stormy (hail-filled!) yesterday called for a neutral palette, but one of my favorite things to do is to add a brightly colored belt + nail polish for a little bit brightness. I really enjoyed Target’s  recent “Boutiques at Target” collab (and apparently everyone else did too, as there will be a fall installation including the awesome NYC-based retailer Kirna Zabete and San Fran retailer The Curiosity Shoppe), and the polishes from Aspen-based retailer Cos Bar from this go-around have (surprisingly!) been one of my favorite items.

Why the surprise? The colors look bold yet somewhat basic in person, but they go on merely as a thin wash. Layer them up, however, and you’ll have some dangerously powerful digits.  I’m wearing the purple color below–granted a little chipped since I had painted them five days prior, and I’m lazy, and I always try to stretch my manicures a few days too far. But a very pretty, orchid-y purple nonetheless:

WOW!  I love the simple complexity (is there such a thing?!) of this outfit!  It’s the kind of styling that I admire on others but feel I can never pull off!  You look so chic!  I have loved these shoes on you each time you wear them… I just happened across some Bebe wedges that have the same vibe and considering getting them (they’re supper dupper high!)(a health hazard when chasing after kids)…
Thank you for visiting me and commenting!  I was leaning against the kitchen counter checking comments and as Hubby entered the kitchen I started jumping up and down and Whoop’Whoop’ing; he asked “What’s up?”… I just looked at him like he grew horns and said:  “Chloe wrote me back!!!!!!” and this was his deadpan reply:  Who’s Chloe?…..
First, I don’t know if you know, but when you replied on my blog I clicked on your name to link to your blog but it actually linked me to your “Blogger Profile page” which in turn took me to the old Blogger posts…
Second, OMG! I always thought of wardrobe malfunctions as things coming off but never a zipper being stuck!  What a story!  Had me smiling to myself all day (the kids thought I was going coo-coo!)  I had that scary moment inside a dressing room where the zipper got stuck on the back of my bra… You know that split second of terror that you might be forever stuck in this dress that you discovered you actually not like???
Third, as I was reading your comment on the Crochet post I was thinking “who is this cooky lady that likes to squish her face into handbags?  how weird… Who is this?  Oh, its Chloe!  It’s alright!
Yea, I prefer a very compartmentalized, organized and square-ish bag but every now and then the little red, horned fashion lady on my right shoulder wins…hahaha
Thank you again for visiting me!  Hope I didn’t bore you and you will return!

    XOXO  Dana

  • I love your different versions of the DVF Harper clutch! I saw it on Rue La La recently (in green ostrich) for something ridiculous like….$100ish. And it was sold out by time I got to it. Arggghhh! :-z

    • Thank ya! I always miss out on the DVF sample sales, too–even if I log on right as they launch. I don’t know HOW people grab things so fast, but they do, and grrrrrr. :(

  • Thanks, Maria! ♥

  • Jenny

Damn when did you sell out? Just visited your page after a couple weeks away…. Not impressed with all of the ads.

    • Hi Jenny! Thanks for the feedback (and welcome back!). It’s a new layout with a lot shit ton of changes, and I’m *definitely* in the process of still tweaking & re-working it. It always takes a bit of time to settle into a new design, and so I do appreciate feedback & thoughts.

I’ve heard about all the crazy weather in Colorado lately! I personally would love it if it happened here ;) I love all of your accessories. Your arm candy always makes me drool!

    • Hee hee hee.  Thanks girlie!  The wild weather is fun (an overused saying around here: If you don’t like the weather, just wait an hour and it’ll change), but ooh I hate hail. Car damage, garden damage, bleh. :(

  • i LOVE those shoes every time i see them! and the belt adds just the perfect peek of color!
