TREND WATCH: FLORAL BLAZERS
What you need to know: Floral blazers were all over S/S2012 runways, showing up at labels like Topshop, Cynthia Rowley, Rebecca Minkoff (and even at a few edgier labels like Prabal Gurung and Celine, too!). These aren’t the too-darling floral jackets of the 90′s–luxe jacquard fabrics, tuxedo lapels, and even moto jacket shapes keep this jacket sophisticated, polished, and chic.
How to wear this trend: While the “co-ord’ look (coordinating your jacket + bottom in matching fabric) has also been a big trend this spring, I think that floral blazers are best worn paired with silk blouses, slim pants, solid-hued skirts, or even paired over dresses on cool summer nights. Coordinate your nail polish to match a color in the print and keep accessories to a minimum–picking the wrong accessories (or over accessorizing) can instantly ruin the look. Sleek shoes and handbags are best–they let the pretty floral print s do all the talking.
