Outfit Of The Yesterday (Mustard + Black + Rose Gold + A Printed Jacket)

(♫: True Thrush – Dan Deacon)

Crazy prints were abundant on the runway for Fall 2012, most notably at Prada and Miu Miu; and while the brash & clash prints are fun to look at there, they can be a little overwhelming to pull off in real life:

Take a prettily patterned jacket on its own, though, and you have an easy way to add some texture (and, dare I say, and I will whisper and make suspicious shifty eyes while doing so–whimsy?) to an outfit. The little jacket that I am wearing below (from ASOS) has a print heavily inspired from one of the Prada jackets above, and I like that the fabric has a nice sheen to it while the higher tailored seam on the back keeps the fit super feminine and flattering. It is a jacket that is easy to dress both up and down–good stuff.

In other news, say hello to Sam the Ram. Husband says he appreciates me finally channeling some Flavor Flav into my outfits (but is quite disappointed that Sam doesn’t tell the time) (as if a ram could actually read a clock, anyway):
