Outfit Of The Weekend: Slightly Mean + J.Crew Gallery Green

♫: Hopeless Wanderer – Mumford & Sons

If you have read this blog for any length of time (it is four years this month by the way, yowza–thanks so much to all my readers, you guys rock!), you will probably already know that there is nothing I love more than a mix of girly with just a little bit of “tough” thrown in to make it interesting:

{a recent find at my local Target for about $12}

I have officially worn my leather shorts to overly-loved-stretched-out sadness over the past two years, and I was on the hunt for a pretty leather skirt that would not only serve as an adequate replacement, but could also be something that I would be able to wear in the fall and winter as well.  Laser-cut leather is a pretty big trend at the moment, and just like how the mary janes that I am wearing in my outfit below are toughened up with spikes, I love how the Oasis leather cutwork skirt is trimmed with delicate scallops and a very pretty floral cut-out pattern. It is just the right mix of tough leather and sweet details–love.

(I was fearful to take my steamer to the skirt, however, so it is a little rumpled in the shots below from shipping and packaging. Thankfully it’s made of a really soft leather–so the rowdy wrinkles eventually got themselves in order and straightened themselves out after a few hours of wear. Want it for yourself? • Happy 4 year anniversary to The Chloe Conspiracy Blog!

I love the whole look in the Outfit post and hoping you will share where you purchased the spikey lizard flats/heels next to the faux zebra Valentino flats….pleassseeee.

Can’t wait to see what other blouses/jackets you pair with the laser cut leather skirt!!!

The spikey Zara flats do they run TTS? I’m normally a sz 7 but I see from the website they don’t offer that size – only a 61/2 and 71/2.

    • Hi Ginny–I’m also a size 7 and usually do a US 6-1/2 (UK37) with them. Their sizing conversions are a little wonky for footwear– a loooong time ago, a European size 37 would have been the equivalent of a 6-1/2 here in the US, but now more often than not a size UK37 is pretty much the same size as a US7! I figured that out after ordering a size US 6-1/2 from them once and seeing a “UK37” on the size tag. I do size up to a 7-1/2 when I get boots from them, though, to accommodate thicker socks.

I’d say these shoes run a little big–I have a little bit of heel slippage when walking with them, but I’ve yet to throw in some insoles. The strap helps keep them in place, so it isn’t too big of a deal.

Oh! And the spikey lizard flats and heels are also Valentino, from last year. ♥

  • you look fab! love this entire combo :)

  • Marina

wow! what a fabulous skirt- love the laser cut details…

  • Congrats on 4yrs, girl!

I had been eyeballing those shoes – they are fantastic! Did you find them comfy?

    • Aw, thanks so much Lisa! Truthfully–I definitely have comfier pairs of shoes. They’re not unbearable, but the studding made them a little stiff at first. They’re made out of a suede-like material, though, so they’ve definitely stretched and become less rigid with wear–but the first day that I wore them, yow! I’d recommend wearing them around the house a few times before any major outings to help break them in!

  • That skirt is perfect for you! You paired it nicely with the greens and gold.

    And happy four years! :)

  • Yay for 4 years :) You look gorgeous as always!
