Outfit Of The Weekend: Slightly Mean + J.Crew Gallery Green

♫: Hopeless Wanderer – Mumford & Sons

If you have read this blog for any length of time (it is four years this month by the way, yowza–thanks so much to all my readers, you guys rock!), you will probably already know that there is nothing I love more than a mix of girly with just a little bit of “tough” thrown in to make it interesting:

{a recent find at my local Target for about $12}

I have officially worn my leather shorts to overly-loved-stretched-out sadness over the past two years, and I was on the hunt for a pretty leather skirt that would not only serve as an adequate replacement, but could also be something that I would be able to wear in the fall and winter as well.  Laser-cut leather is a pretty big trend at the moment, and just like how the mary janes that I am wearing in my outfit below are toughened up with spikes, I love how the Oasis leather cutwork skirt is trimmed with delicate scallops and a very pretty floral cut-out pattern. It is just the right mix of tough leather and sweet details–love.

(I was fearful to take my steamer to the skirt, however, so it is a little rumpled in the shots below from shipping and packaging. Thankfully it’s made of a really soft leather–so the rowdy wrinkles eventually got themselves in order and straightened themselves out after a few hours of wear. Want it for yourself?
