Outfit Of The Yesterday: Black Leather + Crystals + Gold

♫:  Swing Tree – Discovery

…and an outfit from a date night to see Fortune Feimster at The Comedy Works last Saturday night. I think my face still hurts from laughing, good fucking times.

So just a super quick post for today. The weather in Colorado has been mostly warm and sunny through November and now December, so I have been trying to eschew tights as much as I can–but I’m pretty darn sure my days are numbered. The Free People Embellished Vegan Leather Dress that I wore below is definitely on the fancier side, so I dressed it down with tasseled loafers from Topshop and only a few small pieces of jewelry.

It is also probably one of the best things I’ve ever purchased from Free People–the faux leather is thick and easily passes for being real (Husband thought it was!), and the crystal/stone embellishments are firmly sewn on, meaning there is absolutely no chance of leaving sad sparkles in my Saturday night wake. Trust me–I tried. You can still find this dress at Shopbop (in limited sizes) or for pre-order (in more sizes) at Revolve Clothing, too.  Love:

Pearl Ring: Banana Republic, old (similar by kate spade) (similar under $50)

What size did you purchase? In my opinion, [fitted] Free People dresses run on the slightly smaller side vs. the norm (H&M, Zara, J.Crew, AT)—well, Free People run more TTS than J.Crew. I swim in size 0 and 00 at J.Crew, yet the smallest size usually works for me for Free People!

Hi Amilee! I’m wearing a 0, but I probably could have gone up to a 2. It does run a little small, especially through the bust, but has a traditional a-line shape so it’s roomier in the waist and hips. Hope that helps a bit! Let me know if you have any other questions!

Ahh, those are the TopShop shoes I wanted so bad and sold out before I could snag in my size! Love the pairing here – that dress is fabulous on you :)

Thanks Kim! And I know–they had them in black too, but by the time I decided that I wanted them, poof–they were gone.. I keep hoping they will bring them back! :(

That is on killer dress Chloe! and the loafers go amazing with it! I should say I the crystal detailing was some sort of harness attached to it at first (because I think that’d be cool and you could add it to anything) but I love that its part of the actual dress! beautiful!

Thanks Maca! I agree, I was thinking that a detachable harness would be beautiful (the possibilities!). I know Free People often “reincarnates” their designs, so I’m keeping my fingers crossed…

you look beautiful, why do you photoshop your hair? theres no need to blur it. if it wasnt so obvious i wouldnt mention it, i think you should leave your hair alone, or improve your ps skills lol

Those sad residual sparkles are the worst. I have several tops that are terrible that way.

Right? I think I left an entire sequined skirt in a club in Vegas once! :|
