♫: Freak Out – Tapes ‘N Tapes
If you’ve read this blog for any length of time, you likely know that there’s nothing more I love than a good silk blouse. While not always the most practical (dry-cleaning, hell-o), there is no denying that they have played an integral part of transitioning my wardrobe from a 20-something closet (full of knit tees, jeans, and cardigans, cardigans, cardigans) to a 30-something wardrobe; a wardrobe that has a bit of refinement. Refinement haphazardly crammed between the knit tees, jeans, and cardigans, cardigans, cardigans (thank goodness for steamers).
Tory Burch makes some of my favorite blouses, and I grabbed the Tory Burch Bambie blouse that I am wearing below during their recent (but has since ended) promotional sale on sale items. While mixes of white and black are making their way back to being trendy for spring 2013, I think it’s a classic color combination that rarely ever goes completely out of style. I also love the stark, slightly masculine touches (epaulets, contrasting trim) that this blouse has, and the “poundcake” color has a tiny touch of beige to it as well–which makes it a little more flattering than brighter, whiter hues. Love.
And a faux bob for a little something different, no scissors required. I did mine fairly willy-nilly with just a few bobby pins & hairspray, and it was the first time in my life I’ve ever hi-fived myself for having the thinnest hair ever, but Love Maegan has a great video tutorial on how to do it, too:
