Hello again, you guys! Some of you might remember that I wrote around this time last year about a personal plight that I have had with autoimmune-related hair loss, and how I turn to wearing hats to help hide it when it happens. In the past twelve months since I posted about that my hair has stopped falling out (yay) and is really starting to grow back in again–albeit so gray. But hey, at least it’s growing back! At this point, I will take it any way that I can get it.

Buuuut while I no longer have to struggle to conceal bald spots, I still have to often wear a hat during the sunny daytime simply to help protect myself from the sun to prevent future flares. And, essentially–future rounds of hair loss. 

With that in mind, I picked up the hat that I am wearing below shortly before my husband and I went on our anniversary trip to Curacao this past May. I loved the cool bolero shape and wider brim for extra sun protection, and it has actually turned into being one of my favorite purchases of this entire year. The hat held up beautifully during our nine hour flight to and from the island while crammed into my overpacked suitcases, and it has survived several other trips since then, too. And it’s just a really easy hat to wear! Which sounds weird, but anyone that wears lots of hats knows how finicky they can sometimes be–too floppy, too pinchy, too shapeless, too sweaty, too…meh. This is my first hat from Janessa Leone and definitely not my last. So many gorgeous hats, mmhm.

Aside from that–I am still working on a mega post regarding our bathroom remodel and I will hopefully have that up this week! We ordered some new marble flooring (a sparkly honed Calcutta Umber) and it finally arrived last week–and I already like it much better than the previous marble flooring we had that failed (polished Carrara crappity crap). So hopefully that is a good sign! More in a bit…
