Outfit Of The Yesterday: Peach + Burgundy + Black + Turquoise (& The J Crew Wool Cashmere Trench)

♫:  Default – Django Django

I can’t lie, I was pretty excited when oxblood and wine-y hues started to pop up for the Fall 2012 season. I had always wanted a bright red coat in my arsenal, but given that I tend to have a naturally red face, it can sometimes be a very difficult color to pull off.

Enter red’s much more gorgeous & grown-up cousin (sorry red), however, and we have deal. Not only are these colors much more versatile and flattering to a wider variety of skin types, but they pair well with an assortment of colors. Pair these burgundy hues with black & gray to keep your look sophisticated, or try throwing in a few neon hues (like yellow or coral) to help brighten it up:

1. wool blend military trench (express) - shop it! 2. longline military jacket (forever 21 & LOVE21) - shop it! 3. double-breasted jacket (forever 21) - shop it! 4. ridged wool-blend peacoat (LOFT) - shop it! 5. fur trim duffle coat (ASOS) - shop it! 6. tahari roxy envelope collar coat (nordstrom) - shop it! 7. mackage steffy leather trim double coat (nordstrom) - shop it! 8. smythe double-breasted wool coat (nordstrom) - shop it! 9. elie tahari janine cowl coat (neiman marcus) - shop it!

How lovely! I usually wear my dark red hues in skinnies or nail polish. Easy peasy. Never thought of a coat though! Loving the pop of color your earrings provide too!

I am just green with envy over that gorgeous coat! I had my eye on it for a while, but my size sold out before it ever went on sale. I’m glad I can enjoy seeing it on you, though! It’s beautiful, and it works wonderfully with your coloring. Those earrings are stunning, too!

I love this gorgeous hue and it looks great on you, Chloe! I especially like some of the coats you listed with a slightly more purplish tint. Also dig the close-up shot of your earrings and makeup. ;-)
