Outfit Of The Yesterday: J Crew Linen Botanical Tank + Stripes (& Going Bananas)
I hope everyone reading had a safe and happy Fourth of July! Husband and I took off for the Black Hills of South Dakota this year to celebrate, since you haven’t had a proper Fourth unless you know the holy-shit-panicky-fear of dodging for your life as bottle rockets whiz mere inches from your head, lit by 13-year olds that lack any sort of impulse control and/or my dad (fireworks are legal almost everywhere in South Dakota). It was lots of fun! As long as you don’t wear a lot of hairspray or anything else flammable on or anywhere near your head, that is. Sacrifices.
{and a hardcore snooze on the way back}
We are finally getting closer to starting on our main floor bathroom remodel, and so Levi and I have spent the past few weekends on the hunt for ideas. But…where in the heckity-heck does a person go in Colorado to get some cool and off-the-wall ideas? After spending a mediocre day at the Denver Design Center recently, I am beginning to realize that it’s pretty fantastic exercise in futility especially if you are not working with a licensed interior designer or contractor. Levi and I would like to be hands-on with most of the remodel (hence no designer or contractor) but use unique products & support some local businesses (sorry Lowe’s) too…so yikes. Our search so far for cool bathroomy things hasn’t been easy, and I am two seconds away from recruiting an architect friend of mine to go shopping with us so we can at least get into some of the numerous trade-only stores. Will they notice that technically she’s a licensed landscape architect? Hehhhhhh, desperation. I HAVE MY SOURCES.
In the meanwhile, we have made a few decisions on the easier aspects of the remodel–like the wall colors & paint. I want the bathroom to be functional but unique, and so we have decided on horizontal black and white stripes. And a gold ceiling! I am excited for that part of it, I’ll have a better mock-up of what we’re planning to do on the blog shortly, so stay tuned…
Outfit time!
