Outfit Of The Yesterday: The Clover Canyon Temple Dress
♫: When You’re Young – Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros
Clover Canyon is a relatively new brand on the fashion scene (it debuted at Spring 2013’s New York Fashion Week), but it’s a brand that has quickly gained a lot of traction in spite of its relatively short lifespan. Carried by retailers like Nordstrom, Revolve Clothing, Shopbop, and Saks Fifth Avenue, it is a brand probably best known for its statement-making colorful prints.
Perhaps lesser known about this LA-based brand is the fact that its garments are made in the USA–in California, to be exact. That can be a pretty darn rare thing to find, so yay!
After spying a few Clover Canyon pieces on Jean (ExtraPetite.com) and other bloggers, I finally decided to grab something for myself to try. I am pretty pleased with the result–this is definitely a petite-friendly brand. I am wearing my usual size (xs) in the dress below, and while the sleeves are a little long (‘sup, t-rex arms?) the rest of the dress is cut pretty slim–especially through the shoulders and chest. It’s also shorter in length, so no hemming required there. I do think that some of the wilder prints might be a bit overwhelming on shorter statures, but as long as accessories are kept sleek & chic, it shouldn’t be a big deal.
