Outfit Of The Yesterday: Taupe + Coral + Wine
♫: 1991 – Azealia Banks
A rainy, stormy (hail-filled!) yesterday called for a neutral palette, but one of my favorite things to do is to add a brightly colored belt + nail polish for a little bit brightness. I really enjoyed Target’s recent “Boutiques at Target” collab (and apparently everyone else did too, as there will be a fall installation including the awesome NYC-based retailer Kirna Zabete and San Fran retailer The Curiosity Shoppe), and the polishes from Aspen-based retailer Cos Bar from this go-around have (surprisingly!) been one of my favorite items.
Why the surprise? The colors look bold yet somewhat basic in person, but they go on merely as a thin wash. Layer them up, however, and you’ll have some dangerously powerful digits. I’m wearing the purple color below–granted a little chipped since I had painted them five days prior, and I’m lazy, and I always try to stretch my manicures a few days too far. But a very pretty, orchid-y purple nonetheless:
